Naxos has been recognized among European destinations renowned for white sands and crystal-clear waters, according to readers of The Guardian. Alongside Greece, the newspaper’s audience highlighted beaches with exceptional natural beauty in Corsica, Western France, Croatia, Sweden, Gran Canaria, Calabria, Bodrum, and Catalonia.
In the article, readers expressed their admiration for Naxos, noting that “the island is home to amazing beaches everywhere, with Kastraki standing out for its unique, unparalleled beauty. This fairytale-like coast impresses with soft white sand leading into stunning waters that shift from light blue to turquoise.”
It is also noted that Naxos recently received significant international recognition at the Greek Travel Awards, held in London following the conclusion of the WTM international exhibition. Naxos was named a top sustainable destination through a rigorous quality assessment, voting, and selection process overseen by the Greek National Tourism Organization (EOT).
This achievement follows targeted initiatives by the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades, as well as a familiarization trip for specialized travel agents and journalists organized in collaboration with the EOT office in the United Kingdom.
