A Venue of Choice on Naxos: The Cultural Center former Ursuline School

Naxos is not just a summer tourism destination.  As an historic and leading commercial hub of the Aegean, Naxos is surely a Greek Cycladic island event organisers might want to consider for an event. This venue is just what you might be looking for.

Event organisers and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events) professionals are always seeking inspiring destinations to host and hold conferences.

The Greek islands are ideal places to hold such business and industry events because they offer and incentive and opportunity to participants to travel to an idyllic place.

Naxos is not just a summer tourism destination.  As an historic and leading commercial hub of the Aegean, Naxos is surely a Greek Cycladic island event organisers might want to consider for an event.

The island’s dynamic agriculture, dairy, marble and tourism industries, means that there is business ethos and infrastructure in place to accommodate such conferences.

While there are several venues that may host conferences, concerts and exhibitions, the venue with the greatest capacity (450 and up) is known as the The Cultural Center former Ursuline School.

Located at the highest point of the medieval castle district known as Kastro, the Ursuline School offers spectacular panoramic views onto the Aegean, the Temple of Apollo and surrounding islands, Paros, Mykonos and Syros.

Visible from afar, the newly restored and renovated three-story neoclassic building elicits an aura of science and academia; a milieu befitting to its history as one of Greece’s finest convents for schooling at the time.

The school started to be built in 1739 and was in operation until 1970.  Restored in 2009, it reopened as a state-of-the-art cultural center equipped with all necessary facilities and outlets for communications and office administration requirements (desks, computers, phone, audio visual, wifi…) Local suppliers are available to provide necessary supplies, services and support.

Since opening, it has hosted international conferences and symposiums in the medical and scientific fields as well as artistic and cultural events and exhibitions.
