Goat with potatoes


  • 3 kg goat cut in chunks
  • 3 kg potatoes, peeled and chopped into fat strips
  • 1 kg onions, quartered
  • 3-4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 3-5 leaves of bay
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • cinnamon
  • cloves
  • all-spice
  • salt
  • pepper



Wash the meat well and then brown lightly in a deep saucepan with olive oil. Add the onions, bay leaves, garlic and the rest of the spices to taste, covering with enough water to just cover the meat. Add the tomato paste and cook for 20 minutes before adding the potatoes. Cook for another 20 minutes over low heat and then turn it up to high to thicken the sauce. You can also add half a cup of red wine at this point and let in boil for a few minutes.
