Merssini

Merssini

Merssini is a semi-mountainous settlement of low, flat-roof houses perched on a steep slope on the island’s northeastern side, with superb views to the open sea and Amorgos. Its standout feature, a water spring next to an age-old plane tree, is where the celebration of the village church, Agia Sophia, is held on September 17. Two tavernas are open throughout the day during the summer months. A footpath leads to two very attractive beaches, Livadi and Fykio.

Directions for access Merssini is 5km by road from the island’s main settlement, Stavros. It is also at the end of a footpath that leads to Kedros beach via Messaria.
