Multiple tourism promotion initiatives and project by the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades

Through a series of press trips, the Municipality of Naxos and Small Cyclades makes its presence known constantly at the international target markets.

In this frame, a visit of a travel writer of the Swiss travel magazine Imagine Magazin was organized, in order to publish an article in the oldest and most important travel magazine of Switzerland, circulating in 42.000 issues, focusing on quality traveling experiences and targeting Swiss travelers of higher income. This magazine is circulated also in airports in Switzerland as well as on board in flights of Edelweiss Airlines. Equally important was the fam trip organized for one of the most popular travel bloggers of Israel, who is also a journalist for major media networks.

The Municipality, in cooperation with the GNTO Office for the UK and N. Ireland, supported the visit of British journalists of the established magazine House & Garden, which is part of the international publishing house Conde Nast and is considered the top at its category.

While working on the above projects, the Municipality targeted since early on major international TV productions, which will highlight the multiple aspects of destinations, such as history, tradition, activities, gastronomy, natural landscapes and authentic hospitality. For this purpose, a 4-member TV crew of Heritage TV accepted the invitation by the Municipality and filmed extensively around Naxos for 4 days.

At the same time, during this period, crew members of the popular TV production “My Greek Odyssey” are hosted by the Municipality, in order to film two episodes for Naxos and Small Cyclades.

With a view to domestic tourism, the Municipality is undertaking a series of actions, such as press trips, live transmissions on established TV shows as wells as press releases.
