The 2016 summer event program by NOPPAPPPA of Naxos and small Cyclades

The 2016 summer event program by NOPPAPPPA of Naxos and small Cyclades

Musical, cultural and sporting events are included in the 2016 summer events program of NOPPAPPPA Naxos and Small Cyclades.

The events begin on Saturday July 9th and will conclude in September. Apart from the cultural and sporting events, the NOPPAPPPA program includes summer music workshops, swimming and sailing lessons for children and festivals that have become a tradition in recent years, such as the “Dimitria” and “Milossia”.

The complete program is as follows:

Saturday, July 9th at 9:00 p.m.
Municipal Theatre “Iakovos Kampanelis”
Theatrical Performance: Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s ” The Dream of a Ridiculous Man”
“I am a ridiculous man. I know that I am ridiculous. Now, they even call me crazy. ”
And so it begins “The dream of a ridiculous man”, one of the finest novels of world literature that captures Dostoyevsky’s vision of a society free from evil through a  conflict of contradictions. The ridiculous (anti) hero of the great Russian writer, takes us to the fantastic world of dreams to reveal the great, the universal, the only truth of life… love. The dream quickly turns into a nightmare, the society becomes corrupted, human passions come to the fore front and the struggle between good and evil reveals Dostoevsky’s philosophy for the development of human society, from the beginning to the present day.
With minimal props and by means of expression, the actors have dramatized this literary masterpiece, which still thrills with its truth, humor and eloquence, even though it was published in 1877.

Saturday, July 9th at 8:00 p.m.
Association of Filotiton Naxos Cultural Center
Presentation of the book: “Agapimeni lexi mou egine t’onoma sou” (Your name became my favorite word) by Yianni Megalakaki
The couplet (mantinada) says Nikos Kazantzakis is like a loud scream that comes from a masculine but extremely sensitive soul… The Cretan soul. “I write couplets, lyrics and songs to find a nest for my thoughts,” says Yianni Megalakakis. This book will become your favorite companion as you let yourself go through the emotions and true feelings. The couplet is used to express the exaggeration of all things so you can feel the simplicity and grandeur of life. We do not need a crystal ball to predict the course of our lives, just our five senses, which lead Yianni Megalakakis into writing in a unique way.
