My Iraklia:
Long-Standing Friendships

John & Lynn, former teachers, from England first discovered Iraklia in 1998.

«We were attracted by the lack of man-made noise, for Iraklia is a quiet, unspoilt island where we have made many long-standing friendships …” Here they share their thoughts on what makes them return to Iraklia.

Long-Standing Friendships
“We discovered Iraklia in 1998 and have been back every year since.  We were attracted by the lack of man-made noise, for Iraklia is a quiet, unspoilt island where we have made many long-standing friendships with like-minded people from all over Europe.  We are always made to feel welcome by the islanders and their hospitality and friendship have meant that we look upon our return to Iraklia as going home.”

Paradise
“We enjoy walking the island’s footpaths, swimming in the clear blue water at Tourkopigado and Livadi, taking a trip with Dimitri on his boat, “Anemos” to the beaches at Alimia and Karvounolakos, eating at one of the island’s excellent tavernas and chatting to friends and neighbours at the kafenion. To us, Irakliais more than a holiday island, it is paradise.”
