My Iraklia: For Me There is No Alternative

Øyvind, sales manager, from Fetsund, Norway, has visited Iraklia several times over the last decade, rewarded each time he arrives with the warmth and hospitality of the people. He shared this, and some additional things that he loves about the island.

The People
«I have visited Iraklia about 15 times over the last decade, and the first
thing that got me when I arrived on the island was the warmth and friendliness from the Iraklian people: so warm, caring and embracing. Still makes me feel special at every visit.”

The Atmosphere

”The atmosphere on the island is somewhat magic: tranquility, peace for the heart and soul; extraordinary scenery, with possibilities for long walks both around, and on top of the island: rewarding, with views of most of the Small Cyclades on clear days.

The Food
All of the tavernas have good, home-cooked food, served with love, laughter and nice cold Greek beer.”

Accommodations
“Accommodation on Iraklia is an overall good experience, but be smart and book in advance as rooms often could be hard to find in the high season.

Iraklia is genuine Greek, but also a distant island; far away from the
rest of the world and a good eight hours ferry trip from Athens.

For me there is no alternative.

A very long journey from my house in Norway is rewarded – every time — with the best holiday on Iraklia.”

“If you like a holiday, where calm, relaxation, good food, nice beaches, friendly people and a total recharge of your batteries is the most important thing, I’ll see you there!»
